This is the second hiker wedding I have had the privledge to attend this summer, the first being that of Doodlebug and Jasper.  That was such a great event, casual, fun, dancing, and two people for whom I couldn’t be happier that they found each other.  I have high hopes for this event as well.  It is casual, should be fun with dancing and again two for people whom I couldn’t be happier that they found each other. 

I can’t wait!

            I work for the Adopt-A-Peak program.  Our program takes out groups of people, camps and business, to maintain trail on their peak, the one which they have adopted.  I think it’s a great program that gets people actively involved in maintaining and sustaining the out of doors. 

            I get to lead and teach people how to do trail maintenance, about Leave No Trace Ethics and about the fragile alpine environment.  When I don’t have a group with me, I am working my co-leader (officially my intern but I really think of them as co-leaders) and another project team on some of the very high elevation work.  Stuff that’s difficult to get groups up to. 

            So far I have been very happy with my work and the amount of public interaction I’ve been having.  I feel like I might be making a small bit of difference.  I also work with some great people, both other CFI staff and participants in our program. 

            So far the summer is shaping up to be a great one.
